She Waits

In deep thought she stands waiting for someone unknown.

Today she will meet him, her knight in shining armor who will

take her away to a place far from here. She knows he will have olive

toned skin and dark trusses of hair but will he be kind and polite, or will

he be forboding and have a dark side?

She walks down the street on a sulky hot day her skin moist under the afternoon sun. By standers watches as she slowly walks to the center of the road.

Then as she snaps her fingers to a beat that starts out slow and quickly excels to a rapid rhythm the crowd joins in and the dance continues as hips swirl and trinkets jingle.

So is the life of a Belly Dancer.
