Being Thankful

Being Thankful
I know you must be tired of seeing these
orange beauties but I had to paint them a few more
times before they sag. Bet you can't wait for Christmas.

Pumpkin Glow

Pumpkin Glow
These days I am trying to paint a little differently. I am loading gobs of
paint and trying to be more concious of where each
little stroke is placed. These are the same pumpkins I painted yesterday.
Love the look and feel of these little veggies.

Earth's Bounty

Earth's Bounty
There is just something about pumpkins, the cool air, the leaves as they drift
gingerly to the earth. It really does put a spring in your step. It makes you just want to
wait for a moment and smell the fresh air. Did I say that I love fall.
I picked these three up at the local Wal-Mart this morning and after working
12 long hours in ICU last night I just had to stay up and paint them. I am pretty pleased
with how this one turned out. I am always amazed that one day you paint and
everything just flows and falls into place and other days you struggle.
Today was a good day.

Flaming Orange

Flaming Orange
Funny how pretty and bold an old orange pumpkin can bring a smile.
How fun to paint.

Bent

Bent
Pumpkins are so intriguing. The vegetable is so firm and plump yet the
stem is crooked and many times bent. I loved painting the rich oranges and
blues in this painting. Today was a good day of painting.

The Pumpkin Patch

The Pumpkin Patch
Have you ever been to one? A Pumpkin Patch?
There they are all alike yet all so  different. Orange, green, yellow, white. Any color you can
imagine. The skins are bumpy, smooth and when you feel them your hand feels the roundness
which is both firm and cool.
If you go out on a fall day you will feel the lift of your spirit as the air wisp your hair and
you hear the laughter of children picking out the perfect one for carving and grandma
finds the one just right for the thanksgiving pie.
