I love painting boats although sometimes I struggle with them. This one I must say I am pretty pleased with. I like how I was able to push the third boat to the back and make it read well. Hope you like....7x5 oil painting on canvas panel.

I love that mist filled air where shrimp boats gather. I can remember the heavy salty air at Bayou La Batre,Al

a little fishing town on the gulf coast. My uncle Robert owned a shrimp boat there named the Morning Star. I think of him as I paint this.

Shrimping

Shrimp boats are so majestic and old looking. When I think of them I think of something old

and creaking with each roll of the tide. I know I am wrong but my thoughts are along the gulf coast.

A place where seagulls fill the sky and the smell of salt is heavy in the air.
