A child runs to and fro looking for his favorite toy.

He searchs under the chairs, in the closets and even under the bed.

He crouchs and looks under the sofa when suddenly he looks up and

Elijah

Elijah is a gentle soul. He used to be confident and strong.

He used to be gruff but that was then. That was before he

met her, the little girl with blond stringy hair. After the first

day when she held him and her hair wisp across his face with the

gentle breeze he changed. Every time she tugged him along while she

attended tea parties and such he began to like it. He became more

and more comfortable in her arms. She has left him here

sitting on the wall but not to worry because she loves him in return and

soon she will be back for him so they can continue their adventure called life.

Pearl

I was told by my grandma that a pearl is a treasure to be proud of.

She is the one who named me pearl. My eyes she used to say, were full

of life and joy, How you may ask because after all I am only a stuffed teddy bear.

Well the secret you see is that my eyes reflect the beauty of the one who holds me

close and loves me with all their heart. My eyes reflect the beauty of a child's soul.

My name is Pearl and I hold rare beauty.

Hi There! I know you have not seen me in a while.

 I have been hidden away at the bottom of the toy box.

As my people found me while looking for toys which could be

given to the Salvation Army's Toy Rescue which provides toys

to the poor at Christmas. There I was. I put on my best face and made

sure that my eyes twinkled as she held me. Oh Yea! it works every time.

So here I am still at home. All comfy on the toy shelf. I will try it again next year.

This little bear used to be a sour puss but then one day a little

child came along and held her lovingly in arms filled with love and the little blue

bear felt a change of heart. She needed a name change and

what better name than Sweetie?
