Like Mother Like Daughter

From a small child she learned to dance. Her teacher was her mom.

Today is the festival. Carefully she dons her beautiful outfit, each bangle and strand

sewn by the hands of her mom. Today is a special day, today is the day she will

dance among the crowd with her mother. Her hair is gray, her footsteps a little slower

but as the music begins and the sound of the tamborine jingles, she feel young again even if only for a little while

The Market Place

As shoppers pass by, this little boy is almost unnoticed. He looks around through

the grown up parasols and things and then he spots it, a stuffed toy abandoned by someone else. It is just lying there on the street. He bends and picks it up and now even though he is poor and has no money the little dog becomes his own.

Intimate Dance

The dance floor is full but they don't seem to notice for tonight is

their night. In reckless abandon she wilts in his strong masculine arms. She feels

a bit faint but is is from the passion of the dance or could it be from the closeness

as her heart pounds against the crispness of his shirt.

Belly Dancer

She walks down the street on a sulky hot day her skin moist under the afternoon sun. By standers watches as she slowly walks to the center of the road.

Then as she snaps her fingers to a beat that starts out slow and quickly excels to a rapid rhythm the crowd joins in and the dance continues as hips swirl and trinkets jingle.
