Again I paint a bird but added the interest of snow both clumped on the branches and a fine mist in the air. It seems quite chilly to me. 7x5 oil on canvas panel.

Each day as I paint I learn something. I used a fan brush on this for the pine needles. I have never used a fan brush with any success but it worked ok today.

I am just a little green bird. Not sure what they call me. I think some people call me a mushroom bird. What on earth does that mean? I am not moldy and I don't grow in the ground. I am just a little bird. Well anyway the other day I was sitting on this table and saw something beautiful. Two cherries was right there just waiting for me to eat them only come to find out they were hard and I could not figure out how to eat them. Hard as a rock they were and as I tried to eat them I almost broke my beak. Then the lady of the house came by picked up the cup and drank coffee out of it. How foolish I was to think the cherries were real. I can see now that they are just painted on...just like me.

I do know that birds are suppose to eat those little red berries which hang on trees.

From my standpoint these look like a little too much for me. I think I will pass.

I found this little creature for sale at our local ROSS store. He was

a little metal owl sitting on a limb. It was love at first sight but what would I do with 

something like that? Soooo... I whipped out my iphone and took pictures and now

you get to see him. See why I loved him. He was just so cute.

Feed The Children

I found a photo of this little bird but it was missing a little something.

You see he did not have a worm but I thought to myself... every bird needs a

worm so now I had a squiggley worm hanging out of the little birds mouth...what now?

I was going to name this painting Christmas Dinner but the more I looked my heart

was touched and I knew the name must be Feed The Children...

So that is how a painting is named. It is done only after much thought and consideration.
