Love You With A Purple Passion still life by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan

Love You With A Purple Passion still life by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan
Just decided to paint a still life I feel like it has been forever since I painted one. Maybe I got carried away with the purple or blue or whatever it is that you see......

A Day Filled With Sunshine

A Day Filled With Sunshine
Painted for a challenge at DPW
For sale or auction at my DPW gallery just follow the link to purchase via Pay Pal.
Today is 1/25/13 I retouched this painting. When I looked at it something just bothered me.
I had painted all the flowers forward (I know better). So I repainted and flipped some of them and added some background petals I also reworked the ellipse in the water. Better I think.

Yellow Fellows

Yellow Fellows
These flowers just caught my eye so to speak. I just had to paint them.
Also there is just something about jars that captivate me. I look loser and do what I do...
These are named Yellow Fellows just because I could not think of anything else after two full
days with my grandchildren I am a little frazzled.

A Tight Place With My Friend

A Tight Place With My Friend
Hi! Hey you! Help! We tried to get out but somehow we are stuck. I guess if I must
be stuck though I would rather be in A Tight Place With My Friend than to be stuck
in any any situation with an enemy. Oh well maybe we can get out soon.

Stealing The Show

Stealing The Show
Sunflowers should be called Yellow smiles because
everytime I see them I smile. I see them planted next to the road with
their tall heads beaming. Reaching, reaching for the sun. Beautiful with
their big yellow heads. None can compare to the beauty as they sway in
the summer breeze and leave behing their large brown seeds sending forth
life for then next coming crop.

Two Escaped

Two Escaped
Tis vase of yellow flowers just caught my eye as so many
things do. I studied the shape of the vase the soft delicate flowers and the water
line of course. Also the light shining through the water in the shadow area brought attention.
I have always had trouble with this so I thought I would try it once again.

A Sprinkle Of Light

A Sprinkle Of Light
A vase of flowers with sunflowers and daisy's. Some lady's prefer
these to roses. Why?  Sunflowers are hardy flowers and provide food in the
form of seeds. They are sunny and bright. Daisies are just plan
delicate and beautiful. Who wouldn't want some?

The Pot

The Pot
Some things are strewn on the table top like the leaf that is almost unnoticed without a closer look.
The yellow flowers with just a hint of pink or is that orange stand tall in the pot.
The pot that was found out back behind the garden shed. The pot that had been discarded to never
be used again yet salvaged by her gentle hands. As she stooped low and her wrinkled hands
shook slightly as she reached for it she remembered the day, The day when she always
had beautiful flowers. She gently picked it up and as she thought of her life she decided that even
though old and no longer shiny and bright she would give the old pot another chance. With slow
sure determination she placed the fresh soil in the pot and planted the flowers, the ones with just a
hint of pink or is that orange?
