Creamer At Marriot

Creamer At Marriot
Two weeks ago I went to a nursing conference at Dallas, Tx.
I went into the dining room to have breakfast and while everyone
was sitting there enjoying their food I was snaping pictures. That is what
any normal person would do right?

Is My Hair A Mess

Is My Hair A Mess
I bought this pineapple at a local market yesterday. I couldn't
wait to tackle it. I do like how the leaves turned out but I have to say
It did remind me of a bad hair day.

If I Were Red

If I Were Red
If I were red I would be a good red. Not like an angry wildfire but a
gentle flickering red like a campfire. If I were red I would be bold like the
red in our precious flag. I would run true like the red blood that runs through the veins
of the soldiers who protect us. I would be red like the sweetness of a red strawberry and
yes I would have a little heat like a red pepper which spices up the food it seasons.
If I were red I would be happy because after all red is my favorite color.

Boo Hoo

Boo Hoo
Today I painted most of the day and then went shopping.
I found something that I really like a lot. Usually I use Golden or
Liquitex Heavy Body acrylics however at my local Hobby Lobby
I found some paint that I like a lot. It is Masters Touch brand
Grey Purple it has a peculiar smell but it thick and buttery. Love it.
I also like Liquitex Basics Titanium White. Ok that's it ... My sharing
for the day.  4x4 acrylic on canvas panel

Olive Oil

Olive Oil
I have always loved olives and anything that has to do with them.
I love how bottles filled with oil reflect a certain light each one unique in it's own way.

Just One Of My Teddies

Just One Of My Teddies
This is another painting which I was not quite
happy with. I repainted the background and am much
more pleased. What do you think?

Squashed

Squashed
Squashed? No not like a bug on a windshield but like a
delicious yellow squash which is just perfect to look at or
to put into a casserole. Squashed? You know like a Squash.

The Value of Friendship

The Value of Friendship
The bear is priceless. I got this little stuffed critter in Montana.
The bird Also came from a place far away but both are as valuable to me as
a friend. I would be heart broken if I lost them.
The Value of Friendship (priceless).

The Glass Teapot

The Three of Us

The Three of Us
Tulips are the most special flower because they
can stand alone like a soldier on a hill. When in a group they have
the feel of  being in a relationship like unto a family It makes them stronger and somehow
better at times. When in the light you can see the illumination filter through
the gentle yet strong petals. Tulips, just their name says enough.

Aunt Lula's Petals

Aunt Lula's Petals
Flowers of all sorts were Aunt Lula's passion. I can remember going
to her house as a child and getting lost in her luscious garden. The tiger lilies are what I remember
most. They were bright orange spider like blooms with shiny black seeds. She would
always let us pick them despite mama's protest. Aunt Lula's favorite
flowers were the ones with little pink blooms. The fragrance was outstanding. The view was
to die for but I what I liked most was the adventure while lost among the blossoms.

Little Blue Cup

Little Blue Cup
Thrift store finds are best of all. Sometimes they are cracked, but cracks add
character if it is something you want to keep. Sometimes you can imagine
how much these things were valued by their owners and why they were
discarded. But if they were not sent to the thrift store that would not have ended
up in this painting, this painting of the little blue cup.

Earthern Vessel

Earthen Vessel
This old pot was found discarded in the attic.
Long ago it was used by someone to mix fruit or perhaps store milk
or just as a decorative piece on a corner table.
What ever it's purpose it is valued today because it is mine.
The grapes are just extra.
