It's Fall Ya'll pumpkin painting by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan

It's Fall Ya'll pumpkin painting by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan
What lovely weather...No not the hurricanes but the cool fall air. It does tend to bring that solemn feeling of Thankfulness.  It makes me aware of a power greater than myself. It reminds me to appreciate family and friends and yes even things that I have been blessed with. So bring it on... That cool morning air that drifts throughout the day. The crisp leaves that crunch when you step on them, the warm pumpkin spice latte and hot chocolate and marshmallows. Yes bring it all into my welcoming arms.   Pumpkin painting 10x10x1.5inch gallery wrapped canvas. oil with thick accents left there on purpose. I loved every minute of painting this. I hope you enjoy every minute of looking at it. Have a nice Fall Ya'll !!!

Green Things asparagus oil painting by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan

Green Things asparagus oil painting by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan
6x6 oil still life on gallery wrapped canvas. Today I really enjoyed my time alone painting. My daughter Lacy came by and it was so nice. After painting a few it is finally coming back to me as to how I used to do it. I think the break I took really was good for me.

Radish Rumble

Radish Rumble
I love radishes. They taste good, they look good and they are wonderful to paint.
Sometimes red is the hardest color to photograph. This is one of those times.

With Leaves by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan

Beet Baby still life beet painting by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan

Beet Baby still life beet painting by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan
I really like painting these vegetables. It is an everyday adventure trying to find reference material.
So literally I wake up each day and think I believe I will paint a beet, or a lemon, or a crab or just aboutany other thing.

In A Pickle by Angela Sullivan

In A Pickle by Angela Sullivan
I find glass jars quite the challenge. It is interesting to decide where you will let the background
color peep in to add reflection and light. I liked manipulating the paint to form the texture on the pickles. I originally planned to make definate bumps but opted to leave them as they were. This painting is much
more beautiful than this photo shows.

Family Talk

Family Talk
After finishing this painting I was studying it to decide a name and it just
appeared to me as a family discussion. Maybe like that a mom might give
to her children about some important life lessons.

Red Again

Red Again
I love red. Sometimes I may get a little carried away with the use of it.
I find that I smile more as I paint with red. Well actually I smile when painting no
matter what color I use.

Three For Me
Perhaps I should not admit this but after naming literally hundreds of paintings sometimes
names elude me. Thus grasping at straws Three For Me.

Surrounded

Surrounded
Two little pats of butter in a bowl just minding their own business
when out of nowhere these guys show up.  Surrounded. That is not so bad if the
ones surrounding you happen to be friends.

If I Were Red

If I Were Red
If I were red I would be a good red. Not like an angry wildfire but a
gentle flickering red like a campfire. If I were red I would be bold like the
red in our precious flag. I would run true like the red blood that runs through the veins
of the soldiers who protect us. I would be red like the sweetness of a red strawberry and
yes I would have a little heat like a red pepper which spices up the food it seasons.
If I were red I would be happy because after all red is my favorite color.

Just The Three of Us

Just The Three of Us
Red is my favorite. I love it and can't resist it for long.
I thought this bunch of radishes would give me the opportunity to splash on
a little red paint once again.

Tipped Over

Tipped Over
I am intrigued by squash, goards, and pumpkins. Actually I am intrigued by a lot of things.
I guess as most other artist I almost drool at shapes and values, hues and down right color.
I found these goards at wetcanvas and had to paint them. I have struggled to develop my STYLE.
What I ask myself  is my style? Sometimes it seems as though each and every time I sit down to
paint the canvas is new and I have forgotten how I did it the last time.
Yesterday and today I started out drawing
my intended painting which I rarely ever do but I am ready for some change. I also painted on 12x12
a change from my comfort zone of 5x7. Who knows what I will do tomorrow but as for today I am
pretty happy with the results.
