Earthern Vessel

Earthen Vessel
This old pot was found discarded in the attic.
Long ago it was used by someone to mix fruit or perhaps store milk
or just as a decorative piece on a corner table.
What ever it's purpose it is valued today because it is mine.
The grapes are just extra.

Kitchen Medley

There are things in the Kitchen which peak the interest of the heart.
What is better than a warm cup of tea or the sweetness of delicious fruit?
And how can things get any better than to hold the cool heaviness of
a ceramic cup which is waiting for the warm sweet brew?
Nothing I tell you. This is sheer bliss.

Mama's Platter

A few cracked edges just add to the character of the platter. It has seen many years
come and go. It was given to my mom on a special day in her life, her 25the wedding
anniversary. That was quite a few years ago. I watched with tear filled eyes as my parents
said their vows again on their 67th anniversary. My mom was beautiful as she walked down that isle
holding my brothers arm. Yes this platter is special especially because she gave it to me and each
time I look at it I am reminded of her. Her bright smile, her sparkling eyes and her deep love for me.

air is crisp and cool and as a result the leaves has began to turn from a deep

green to a golden yellow. Soon the sweetness will be savored in a pie
made from mama's favorite recipe. Yumm Yumm!

So Why?

So Why?
So why does a mouse look so good to eat? Why are they so tiny and round and fuzzy and why must
they smell so good? Most of all I would like to know why do they run so fast?\

Charlie

Charlie
I am a little dog with a big mean bite. Well really I have never bit anyone before but
I do think that I would like it. Sometimes when I am acting all nice and stuff I notice that people
smell really good and it makes me want to take a chunk but I always hold back. I always act
sweet but one day soon when they reach down to pet my little head I am going to let
go and just have me a nice taste. I hope I don't get in trouble for it. My master is always
asking me if I would like a treat.

Roar!  I am a beastly lion. My name is Ben. I am big and bad. It's true
that some of my teeth are missing but I still have enough to do you some harm. Well,
I don't really like eating people I only do that if I have no other choice.
I don't understand why the zoo keepers call me Gentle Ben? Can't they
tell that I am fierce?

Fancy

Fancy
Hiding out behind a trash can in the alley is this beautiful cat.
She dosn't know that she is beautiful because she is an alley cat.
Abused and left alone she longs for someone to love her.
A police officer walking by spots her and with kind words trys to coax her closer.
She shys away, day after day he drops by with treats and little by little she inches closer
until one day she nudges his leg as he bends down and then his outstretched hand is
accepted and the friendship begins. She trust him more and more each day
before she knows it she follows him home. Her life has changed, she no longer
lives in an alley. She lives in a beautiful home with her own bed and food anytime

Waiting At The Window

Waiting At The Window
She waits by the window. Her person will be home soon. Basking in the
sun she will not move from her post. Then she hears the gentle roar of the
car engine as it pulls into the drive. She runs to the door and as it opens she finds
her place circling around a pair of legs, leaning in the equivalence of a cat hug
she begins to hum in a low deep purr. She is in a state of happiness because her
friend is finally home.

Your No Bunny Till Some Bunny Loves You

Soft and cuddly sitting in a field of flowers this bunny waits.
She is aware yet not distracted by the gentle movement in the grass caused
by the whisps of wind blowing across the field.
A bird chirps in the distance and butterflies drift gingerly through the air.
A small rat scampers close by stopping to munch on some food dropped
by the farmer. Back to the task at hand the bunny nibbles on the tender flowers and grass.
Another day safe from preditors and harm.

Bessie

Bessie
She is old and gray, her steps are slower and less sure than they used to be.
Each day she saunters from the watering hole to the cattle gate where she
knows the master will be each evening with the food. The other cattle are younger
yet she keeps her place in line. She eats her fill and then returns to her place of quiet rest.
Tomorrow will be the same, and the next day, and the next, and the next.

Place of Solitude
Away in the woods someone sleeps but not for long. The little boat
awaits the long fishing day ahead. Surely this day will bring the big catch.
Somewhere deep in the dark water a monster is lurking but with the cast
of the right lure he won't be able to resist. At dusk the little boat will be
returned here to its place of solitude.
