Still Life Painting A Silver Lining by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan
24x18x1.5 oil on gallery wrapped canvas. Again the colors are not quite true to life. The vase is more white than blue. I have been painting to prepare for some upcoming art shows I am entering. I will let you know more about them later. Thanks to all who follow my art.
Still Life painting Sparkle Rosie by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan
Actually I got the name for this one after a cat. My nephews little girl named her cat Sparkle Rosie, not sparkle or Rosie but Sparkle Rosie and you better not shorten it. She dragged
that cat around everywhere. Oh to be loved like that. The sparkle of this vase made me think of it. The open pear was another gift from my daughter who searches for the strangest things because she knows that I love them. 20x16x1.5 oil on gallery wrapped canvas.
Cow Painting I Don't Know If I Am Coming or Going by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan
I love painting cows. They are truly one of my favorite things to paint. Can I say one more time that I am lousy at taking pictures of my art? This is so much nicer that portrayed here. 20x20x1.5 oil on gallery wrapped canvas.
Still Life Painting If That Isn't Love by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan
I am really enjoying painting rich and loose. Each stroke is a challenge and they don't always turn out like I tell them to. I should have named this you've got to know when to hold them know when to fold them. 20x16x1.5 oil on gallery wrapped canvas.
Still Life painting Butterfly Kisses by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan
24x18x1.5 oil on gallery wrapped canvas. My sister in law bought me this pitcher at the apple festival in Ellijay, Ga a couple of years ago. It actually has a candle in it. I like the looseness of the roses in the distance. The apple and orange were added for balance of course.
Still Life Painting When Angels Dance by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan
My daughter gave me this angel as a gift a few years ago. I couldn't help but exaggerate the colors. 20x16x1.5 There is just something about this collection of angels that I love. It actually has glitter but I don't know how to paint glitter.
Pet Portrait Isn't She Lovely by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan
Painting dogs is so much fun. If I paint a commission of course I try to stay with the particulars and go for exact likeness but when I paint because I want to I am free to exaggerate on the things I like.
Still Life Painting Threes Company by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan
I usually paint pretty exclusively with RGH artist oil paints but decided to change for a bit so I ordered a set of artist grade Gamblin oils. I don't know if I like them or not. The consistency is so different. I wish I could explain it but the Gamblin seemed to smear and The Cad Red Light just did not seem to mix as bright as with RGH. I am gonna continue to try them because yep! I have a whole set. Maybe it is just me and my not being used to them. I will let you know...
Still Life Painting One Silly Little Chick by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan
Each year my Daughter buys me a chicken figurine of some sort. This however looks nothing like the chick. I knew at the beginning that it would be different and I was right. It is cute though with a whimsical questioning look. I should have named it something with a question. Oh well!
Still Life painting I See Right Through You by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan
20x16x1.5 oil on gallery wrapped canvas. I am just no good at photographing my paintings. I need to take a class or something. This is a really nice painting with a lot of movement. It is loose with bold brushstrokes.
The Other Tree landscape painting by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan
Oh my Goodness, I have had the best day ever. Yes! I painted all day. Any of you who follow me know that I work full time as a Nurse. I cherish the days I have to just paint until my heart is content. This is brighter than I was able to capture and Oh so pretty. 6x6 on stretched canvas. Oil of course.
Maybe still life painting by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan
I painted this a little different than I usually do. I do still see hints of my style shining through. I used rich beautiful color in the vase itself including the blue touches and a little pink. I loved painting this little nugget. It is oil on 6x6 gallery wrapped canvas.
Still Life Painting "Something Beautiful" by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan
I painted all morning, animals for the most part on 6x6 canvas but then I decided to do this one. It is a larger painting on 20x20x1.75 oil on gallery wrapped canvas. Sometimes after painting smaller paintings it is kind of intimidating to start a larger one. I really like this one.
Falling Over You still life painting by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan
So..... Today as I painted I was thinking about some of the things I have learned this past year. One of them being to pay special attention against light vs dark and cool vs warm. This is an example. 6x6 oil on stretched canvas.
Talking Things Over still life painting by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan
Well! I learned something today. Never Ever be pulled in by free merchandise, They just sucker you in. I recently bought some Gamblin artist oils and they came with this free painting panel. Well... All it did was make me want more so in the long run it will be only cost me more money. Lol... I am to smart for them. I figured out the trick and will resist but it did paint nicely as the oils just glided on. I went to an antique sort of store today. Calhoun County Pickers and bought this little vase. It is actually a sugar and creamer but I only painter the one. I love it but will definitely paint it again soon.
I don't know the exact size of this but close to 6x12 with boxed sides which are also painted.
Chances Are still life painting by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan
Again I really worked the Vase. Just a little brown jar really but I added so much other color paying special attention to have some of it in the shadow. I am quite pleased with this one. Another 6x6 oil on gallery wrapped canvas.
Unexpected Storm landscape painting by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan
Sometimes I just want to paint. Well actually I want to paint all the time but time just does not cooperate. I painted this today and like the snow. I have to admit there are a few things maybe I should have done different but this is the finished result. It looks to me a little chaotic and fast but I tell you it was anything but... It is oil on 6x6 gallery wrapped canvas. Painted with love and thought and tears.
Odd Couple landscape painting by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan
I love the rich reds and the golden yellows and together there is just nothing better. You will notice the greens and purples of course as compliments. I am quite happy with this little painting. Can you tell that I was smiling as I painted this. 6x6 oil on stretched canvas.
I painted this tree as an attempt to improve my landscapes. Of course the original is much more vibrant. The paint is very thick and rich. It will probably take years to dry. 6x6 oil on gallery wrapped canvas. This is such a nice little painting.
What More Can I Ask landscape painting by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan
