Violets Among Roses still life painting by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan

Violets Among Roses still life painting by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan

Painting is so relaxing. At times I start to get uptight about it and then I make myself take a deep breath and realize that is not drudgery. I do get angry if the painting does not go like I want It to.  I bought this little creamer pitcher in Maine a couple of years ago. It is delicate and one of my favorites. This painting if a 10x8 oil on canvas panel. I painted it on Labor Day this year. I had the most trouble with the basket handle.

Picking Up Shells by Angela Sullivan

Picking Up Shells

Every time I see a little girl at the beach picking up shells it

brings a smile to my face. I tried to keep this loose and fresh.

8x8 oil on canvas panel.

Just couldn't help myself.

I know I should paint tighter but I am having so much fun. Repeating once again

my joy with this kind of painting. It is really like I am smiling the whole time I am at the easel.

I have always heard that every artist has a certain style and after painting for several years I

wonder if I have finally found mine. I know that I have thought that before but never have I enjoyed painting so much. I literaly can't wait to get to the easel each day. Having more peace than ever I dreamed.
