Powell Harbor by Angela Sullivan

While camping at Lake Guntersville Alabama we passed this little lighthouse on the river. My daughter Julie was with me and I just so happened to have my Plein Aire setup in the car. I told her I just had to paint this so off we go down a tiny trail of a road. We drive up and Julie jumped out of the car to ask if it was ok to set up there to paint. It was hot and the air was still but I had so much fun. Might I say she was a little more tan when we left. Great fun....

Lazy Mountain Water

The last painting done on location at Pigeon Forge,Tennessee. I had such a fun

filled time with family and friends. We went tubing down the shallow river and visited

some of the shows. We ate too much and laughed a lot and now all that is left are memories....

Until next year that is.

Fishing Gear

With the patience of Job he ties on his favorite fly.

He walks down to the creek through the thick under brush.

His arms both scratched and bleeding now hold the fly rod with precision.

10 to 2 and then swish the sound of the line whipping by ever so softly until

it lands hitting the perfect spot. The spot just beyond the submerged rock where

bass love to hide. Just then the water boils and a tug on the rod produces the big one.

I am here not bothered by a care in the world. I stand here

on skinny legs, for hours at a time I wait , I wait, a fish will

surely pass by soon but until then I wait.

Boy! am I getting hungry.

Fishing Buddies

I can remember a time not so long ago when I went fishing with my best friend Benny who is also my husband. We would go down to the lake in our little boat with fishing poles and cold drinks in hand. Our bait was live crickets. I would stick my hand down in the cricket cage and they would climb my fingers with their scratchy little legs. I would bait them on the hook and if we were lucky would go home with supper.

There is no better place or time than spending the evening fishing with

your best friend down on the lake.
