I have been practicing painting roses. When I started this I knew that I wanted to paint a chair,  and then came the window. The roses were painted as an after thought but definitely was in the plans. This looks a little darker than it actually is. It is really pretty and rich. linen covered table. The room is clothed in

darkness except for the light filtering in from

the distant window. It's brilliance

falls across the jar and the flowers come to life like a

ballerina on the stage of a famous play.
