I bought some canvas recently that was difficult to paint on. It grabbed the paint and soaked it up making it very hard to paint. I applied gesso and it made it a little easier but I can not say that I ever got it to take paint like it should. This is 20x16 oil on canvas panel.

Well as you can see these are actually tulips. I was having

brain fog and could not think of a good name so Flowers it is.

In front of a window these beautiful flowers ar in a clear glass vase.

Almost as eye catching as the flowers is the window pane reflection.

Roses are such a challenge for me.

My heart tells me to paint them but somehow they never seem to turn out right.

Maybe I should do like other artist and paint a series of only roses then surely

Fresh Picked

Fresh Picked

A fresh picked bouquet is fragrant and beautiful. The aroma fills the

air as though the east window which is near the garden in open. The grapes were also

fresh picked today for the family who are slowly drifting in for a visit. The family reunion will be

tomorrow but for today I choose I intend to remain close by the dinner table for the ever

so interesting conversation among friends.

A Sprinkle Of Light

A vase of flowers with sunflowers and daisy's. Some lady's prefer

these to roses. Why?  Sunflowers are hardy flowers and provide food in the

form of seeds. They are sunny and bright. Daisies are just plan

delicate and beautiful. Who wouldn't want some?

The Three of Us

Tulips are the most special flower because they

can stand alone like a soldier on a hill. When in a group they have

the feel of  being in a relationship like unto a family It makes them stronger and somehow

better at times. When in the light you can see the illumination filter through

the gentle yet strong petals. Tulips, just their name says enough.

Aunt Lula's Petals

Flowers of all sorts were Aunt Lula's passion. I can remember going

to her house as a child and getting lost in her luscious garden. The tiger lilies are what I remember

 most. They were bright orange spider like blooms with shiny black seeds. She would

always let us pick them despite mama's protest. Aunt Lula's favorite

flowers were the ones with little pink blooms. The fragrance was outstanding. The view was

to die for but I what I liked most was the adventure while lost among the blossoms.

They dance in the gentle summer breeze. Not so fragrant yet oh so beautiful.

The color can be changed by altering the acidity in the soil.
